Arsenal are reportedly planning an approach for Lille's Victor Osimhen as they anticipate the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the next transfer window.
The Gabon international has only 13 months remaining on his deal with the Gunners and he is expected to leave the club unless he commits to a new long-term contract.
According to La Repubblica, the north London side will cash in on Aubameyang in a few months' time and they could thereafter shift their attention to signing Osimhen.
It is added that the transfer of the Nigeria international could prove costlier for the Gunners, given they may not be able to recoup the entire funds from the sale of Aubameyang.
Osimhen has bagged 18 goals in his debut season with Lille and he is already being touted to join another elite European side. He was previously pursued by Arsenal more than four years ago.
The north London outfit were able to negotiate a staggered payment option with Lille for Nicolas Pepe last summer and they may propose something similar to land Osimhen's signature.
