West Ham Utd and Arsenal eyeing move for £22m-rated forward
West Ham United and Arsenal have reportedly identified Russian Zenit St Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun as a potential transfer target this summer transfer window.
In January 2019, Azmoun was strongly linked with a move to Wolves before eventually opting to stay in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg.
During his time at his current club, the Iranian forward has managed to found back of the net 26 times from 45 games, keeping him on the radar of bigger clubs around Europe.
According to Area Napoli, the Hammers are among the teams interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old and are prepared to meet his £22m price tag.
However, the report adds that the Gunners will be the favourites to secure the services of the player should they be willing to pay the same fee as one of their London rivals.
Although Napoli are also keeping tabs on the situation, much could depend on whether they are able to sell one of their prised assets.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a £16m bid for Arsenal transfer target and Flamengo playmaker Gerson turned down by the Brazilian outfit.
The 23-year-old, who has made a return to his native Brazil last summer following an underwhelming stint at Serie A giants, AS Roma, has amassed four goals from 43 games across all competitions for the Brasileirao champions.
Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Gerson, and Spurs are believed to have made contact with Flamengo regarding over a potential move in the summer.
