Arsenal enter the race to sign Sevilla centre-back

Arsenal have reportedly joined Liverpool in the pursuit of Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
The north London side are planning a major overhaul of the defence this summer and the likes of Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding have been tipped to head through the exit door.
According to El Desmarque, manager Mikel Arteta has a particular liking for the centre-back, who has been instrumental towards Sevilla's push for Champions League football this term.
Still, the club have a battle on their hands to negotiate the asking price, considering the Brazilian has more than four years remaining on his Sevilla contract on top of a £67m release clause.
Premier League leaders Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the central defender and they are likewise reluctant to make an offer unless Sevilla are willing to accept a reduced fee.
Carlos joined Sevilla from French club Nantes last summer. He has made 25 league appearances for Julen Lopetegui's side, who are currently third in the La Liga standings.
