With most leagues around Europe still both suspended due to the covid19 pandemic, it is unclear when the transfer window will open this summer. But the two PL clubs, plus the Nerazzurri and Red Bulls, have made all enquiries about Marash.
The Italian publication reports that Verona wants £27m for Kumbulla, who can also play as a defensive midfielder and has played 18 games in Serie A this campaign for the eighth-placed side. The 20-year-old centre-back has been compared to Chiellini by Federico Balzaretti, who has played with the Bianconeri icon for club and country
“Marash Kumbulla, on the other hand, is a ‘defender’ defender. The first thing he thinks of is defending his goal and not conceding. Kumbulla reminds me a little of a young Giorgio Chiellini,” Balzaretti said.
Meanwhile, young Gunners defender Jordi Osei-Tutu became the first English footballer to score following the resumption of football in Germany. Jordi is on loan at second-tier German side VfL Bochum, who beat Heidenheim 3-0 on the weekend as they returned to action following a two-month break due to the covid outbreak.
Jordi was named in the starting line-up with Heidenheim and doubled their lead in the 34th minute with his third goal of the campaign. He picked up the ball in the penalty area before evading the attentions of two defenders and drilling an effort into the bottom centre
