Blaugrana want to sign Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for only £18m. La Liga giants have a tentative interest in Gabon international, whose contract is due to expire at the end next campaign. Pierre-Emerick is not the Blaugrana’s first-choice replacement for Luis Suarez, but they are interested in a possible bargain deal.

It would be a shame if such a talent continued to go without playing in the UCL and competing for major titles, and it seems like he could get that opportunity as the Catalan giants eye him up. Blaugrana reportedly would be willing to buy Aubameyang if the London giants reduce their asking price for their centre-forward to only £18m.

Still, the report suggests a 30-year-old striker is only a backup option being considered by the Blaugrana, who are also targeting Inter centre-forward, Lautaro Martinez, as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. Gunners will not sell the Gabonese striker for less than £20m this summer, even if that means losing him on a free transfer.

The London giants feel that keeping their centre-forward for another season would be worth the financial hit unless they are to receive a sizeable fee. That stance is understandable as replacing Pierre-Emerick is going to be a huge challenge for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Aubameyang is regarded as one of the Premier League’s very best strikers and finding a footballer who can hit the back of the net as frequently as he could be practically impossible on Gunners budget.
