Arsenal in pole position to sign €40m-rated La Liga midfielder
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey would reportedly prefer a switch to Arsenal over Paris Saint-Germain this summer in a huge boost for the London giants. Having also earned 27 caps for Ghana in that time too, Partey’s an essential footballer for club and country, and his form has seemingly led to interest from elsewhere.
Ghana international has come through the ranks at the Wanda Metropolitano and has established himself as a key figure for Diego Simeone’s side having played 174 games for the first-team since the 2015/16 season.
The London giants have been linked with a swoop for Thomas for some time, as it has been suggested that the Los Rojiblancos could offer him a new deal to fend Arsenal off which would see him commit his future until 2025 and double Partey’s wages.
Meanwhile, speculation has refused to go away over his future it looks, as the 26-year-old midfielder would be set to snub interest from Parisians in favour of a move to the Emirates as he wants to follow in the footsteps of Ghana icon Michael Essien after his success in England and the PL with chelsea.
It’s added that the Ghanaian midfielder is a top target for the Spanish manager this summer, but his price-tag could be problematic for the team especially amid the threat of missing out on the UCL football next campaign while the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic could also limit spending for many clubs too.
Juventus and Bayern Munich are still interested in prising him away from the Spanish giants, and Rio Ferdinand has urged Man United to get involved in the transfer scrap Recent Posts
